Ravn

Our story

Four artists, one bright room on a quiet street in Vesterbro.

The studio from the street: a shop window with the light on and a bicycle outside

A small studio
on a quiet street.

Ravn is four artists sharing one bright room on Ravnsgade, Vesterbro. We draw every piece for the person who will wear it, and we take our time over the first talk, because that is where a good tattoo starts.

How it started

In 2014 Jonas took over a bicycle repair shop on the corner, painted it white and put in one chair. Malte joined the year after and built the benches, the shelves and the reception desk from oak offcuts.

Sofie came as an apprentice in 2018 and stayed on as an artist. Ida arrived from Aarhus in 2019 and took the chair by the left window. The name is the street’s, and the ravens on the roof across the road.

The room

White walls, a chequered floor, tall old windows and four black beds. Flash drawings on the wall, plants on every sill.

The room is cleaned between every client, every needle is new, and the inks we use are noted down with your tattoo, so you can always ask what went into it.

How we work

  1. 01

    Your idea

Send a few lines, a photo or two and where it goes. Choose an artist, or let us suggest one.

  2. 02

    A talk

Your artist replies with a price and a time, or with questions. Bigger pieces start with a design talk at the studio.

  3. 03

    The drawing

The design is drawn for you and fitted to the body with a stencil on the day, so you see it before a single line.

  4. 04

    The sitting

We go at your pace. You leave with aftercare advice, and come back for a check once it has healed.
